What does "Faux" mean?
The word Faux means "False" or "Fake" and is of French origin.

What exactly is a "Faux" Finish?

What is Woodgraining?
Woodgraining is a faux painting technique where the wall itself is made to look like wood. The paint is put on in layers so that it gives the apparency of wood grain. What is Glazing?
Glazing is a faux painting style where "glaze", or a thin coat of colorless or colored glossy liquid is used on top of painted wall. What are Old World Finishes?
The Old World generally is considered styles of Europe, Asia or Africa in the 15th Century. Old World Finishes are Faux Finishes that are used to replicate these older style of buildings.
